“No one cared, they let him die alone.” “They don’t want to be around him, Scrooge.” The theme of the story is that no one cared about Scrooge and didn’t want to be in any part of his life.They are talking about him because on page 1 of Stave 1, the text says he is a squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous, old sinner. This man was not really important to anybody, but when he died everybody was talking about him in that Scrooge was the community banker and has a big role in everybody’s life.
