More civilized dogs like Newfoundland’s and even huskies find primitive counterparts in the wolves whose howl at the end of the story was the very sound of the wild. London “doubles” the story into opposing worlds. Buck begins in the waking world of reality and ends in a silent, white wasteland which was also the world of dream, shadow, and racial memory. Buck survives to embrace life at the end of a book informed by death as the horrifying, rhythmic reflex of an entire order of things. Life in The Call of the Wild was a survival built on the death of other living creatures.
One’s quest for greed and selfishness tear the soul apart. Throughout the novel, "Call of the Wild", written by Jack London it was apparent that due to the greed of multiple characters, lives of others were destroyed. Wherever Buck wandered the selfishness of others took away his happiness. Greed destroys and takes from everyone and everything. To begin with, Buck had a golden life.
And Buck leapt in and out, but while he was in, shoulder had at last squarely met shoulder… Buck stood and gazed onward as the victorious titleholder, the ascendant primeval creature who had made his dispatch and found it good (London 53). When put into a situation similar to this, it’s up to the more competent dog to use its knowledge to fend for itself. Could that prove that Darwin’s theory about survival of the fittest is true?
“He had been suddenly jerked from the heart of civilization and flung into the heart of things primordial.” This is a quote from Jack London’s story The Call of the Wild. Buck is a family dog until he gets kidnapped and is forced to pull a sled in the harsh Canadian climate. He passes through many owners, gets into fights with many other dogs and has to learn the laws of the wild. Jack London uses conflict and imagery to represent loyalty, the harshness of reality, and character development.

Another way to show the theme is by this detail is the passages "...never seen before a seeming familiarly the instincts (which were but the memories of his ancestors). " Also this statement from the passage "...which had lapsed in later days, and still later in gimmicked and became live again. " All these details that show Buck is still controlled by his natural instincts like all of us. In conclusion natural instincts everybody has.
Buck had to step up and fight the previous leader. He beat a massive problem and showed his power towards being the alpha. During the fight, he shows his ancient ancestry related to wolves. One other time he had to fight Indians to save his owner. Once,,seeing his best owner dead, he reacts extremely fast.

In literature, there are an abundant amount of themes and life lessons written in between the lines of every individual piece of work. In some works of literature, there are even various themes being displayed throughout a single book’s story line. In the story, Into the Wild, John Krakauer writes about a boy named Christopher McCandless. McCandless is a boy who aspires to attain more in life than just materialistic values. Since McCandless grew up in a fairly wealthy family, he already experienced living a materialistic life.
In The Call of the Wild, Buck is a dog who must adjust from comfortable life in Santa Clara, California, to a much harsher reality as a sled dog in Alaska when he is kidnapped. Because of his situation Buck must adapt to his surroundings and learn the ways of survival. The theme of The Call of the Wild is survival of the fittest as we see Buck struggle through hardships and survive both natural disasters and conflict with the other sled dogs. Buck lived a comfortable life in Santa Clara before he was kidnapped and taken to Alaska to become a sled dog during the gold rush. He soon learn life here is not easy.
As Jim Rohn once said, “It is not what happens that determines the major part of your future... it is what you do about what happens that counts.” Buck, the main character in the novel The Call of the Wild, is a victim of life 's many unexpected obstacles. From domesticated and tamed to wild and primitive, the transformation of Buck from beginning to end is a result of nature and nurture combined. Nature, his genetic makeup, proves to be the most dominant in his development of becoming a free creature of the wilderness.
The New York born Donald Trump can be seen as the definition of the American success story. He is “continually setting the standards of excellence while expanding his interests in real estate, sports, and entertainment”(DonaldJ.Trump). Trump wants to promote the importance of a strong military, a strong family, and our country’s accountability to take care of the veterans as well as their families. He wants to bring us closer as a nation to make America stronger. Through Trump’s vision of economy, immigration, and national defense, you can see why he should become president.
The difference in climates and environment creates different obstacles and things that have to be learned in order to survive in the wild(Napierkowski). Besides just the setting he also had to face the wild. A theme of the story is civilization vs. the wild. His life was changed over a period of time. The title itself says “The Call of the Wild”.
In the novel of the Call of the Wild, Buck tried to adapt to his new and difficult life. He was forced to help the men find gold; he experienced a big transformation in him. At the end, he transformed into a new and different dog. Buck went through physical, mental and environmental changes. In my essay, I talked about how Buck was like at the beginning, what he changed into, and how he was forced to adapt his new environment, and underwent these changes.
