Tension between the characters in the novel “The Outsiders” is like stretching a rubber band until it breaks. After reading chapter one of the novel “The Outsiders” by S. E. Hinton, I can summarize that it is about a fourteen year old boy named Ponyboy, who is apart of a gang called the greasers and how he has strong feeling against his oldest brother. Also, in the text the author writes about how Ponyboy 's parents died in a car accident.
