In the book The Compound Eli gave up the Gram and Eddy was still alive.because he felt like everyone had been lying to him about his whole life on page 22.Eli felt like he was not good enough.Eli keeps giving up on hope.As you can see Eli is giving up that gram and eddy are alive.THen when Eli thought that his life cloud not of gotten worse dad gave him a cd with a recent dare and he couldn't have gotten it if he did not know the world above..This affected the rest of the time that they lived in the compound for Eli because of the things that he found out were true even though he thought people were lying to him.This is showing that Eli dose not believe the cd and he doesn't know really what to believe or who to listen to. Eli did not believe in himself and was getting upset.This is showing what is happening because his family is lying to him it is affecting on a lot of other things that happen to.Eli did not believe in himself because his dad was telling him things that he doesn't think is true .but some of the things that his dad and family are saying he likes is true until his family tells him the truth latter in the story. In the end my character Eli is having a flashback to when he and his brother turned eight he wasn't very happy about thinking about this because his twin brother eddy passed away, on page 101.He hates when he thinks about things like this because it makes him really upset because that was his brother and his twin.I think that this is giving Eli a hard time knowing that he does not have his twin anymore and they did a lot together.Then he starts to think about more thing in the past. Eli keeps thinking about the past and how much he misses it.on page 103. This is affecting Eli because he want to go back when his life was great and he still had his twin brother.And now that he doesn't have his twin brother his life is not as good.Then Eli's dad puts the cherry on top and starts to tell Eli things that he doesn't want to hear. Eli's dad keeps telling him Eddy never coming back Eli's dad would tell him.on page 155. This is one of the many things that make Eli really upset. This is making Eli really upset because all he wants to do is believe that his brother is still alive and is still here with them.
