Todd strasser uses tone consistently throughout the story but a couple of times s=todd strasser uses iit to show the theme. The first time he uses it to show the theme is when ;aurie ,enemy. This means that the wave has gone so far like the holacaust that people are making enemys now from the wave. The second way the author uses tone to show the theme is when Ben Ross the founder of the wave called for a wave meeting in the auditorium and on the screen he shows a picture of hitker and shouts this is your actual leader and everyone gasped then it got real quiet and everyone was upset. That shows the theme because it shows that the students were being ran just like hitler ran natzi germany. The third language the author uses to show the theme is description. One scene where todd strasser uses description is where david and laurie are having an argument about the wave and then david pushes laurie over. The author says it seemed as if laurie was unable to talk with the sobs in her throat after David pushed her over. Laurie was surprised by this because the wave completely changed david, but before the wave happened david would never of have pushed her over.
