World War II was a global war that lasted from 1939 to 1945, although related conflicts began earlier. It involved the vast majority of the world's nations. Mainly set in the war environment of World War II. The book Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand was a great read. The book had a lot of themes pertaining to war. Laura Hillenbrand exercised and utilized many different themes while writing the book. She used themes like never giving up and expressed this theme by using flashbacks, foreshadowing. Hillenbrand used these literary devices to express how Louie fights his way through the struggles to get what he wants. Examples were used to express his dream of becoming one of the best runners in the world, staying alive in the middle of the ocean on a raft, or becoming even surviving a concentration camp by perseverance and courage of his own will to see his family again.
