There are several themes in the books The Hunger Games and Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. Survival and rebellion are two of themes in the books and two mechanisms some people have to use in the world. In The Hunger Games part one an example of the themes survival and rebellion is when Katniss has to go beyond the gates of District 12 , where it is restricted, to go hunt animals help her family survive either by selling the meat or consuming it themselves.
