Allen reveals that even Margaret Thomas, of the “National Society of Epilepsy”, expressed that any “implication” with the term “brainstorming is offensive to epileptics” is taking “political correctness too far” (Allen). After many complaints about banning the word, Allen reveals that the council responded with: “We take diversity awareness very seriously” (Allen). This means they will continue to carry out their decision of banning the term. This case shows how some individuals are giving attention to an issue that is not even an issue. Political correctness is making people hypersensitive to different details to the point that they would complain about non-existing
