Theodore Giesel, better known as Dr. Seuss, was not only an author of childrens books but also a political cartoonist, advertisement designer, and film director. Dr. Seuss has published over 60 books, which consist of simple words, clever rhymes, silly stories, and colorful characters. He was a very successful children’s book author. Dr. Seuss has many famous novels, which include “Green Eggs and Ham,” “The Cat in the Hat,” “The Lorax,” and “Horton Hears a Who.” Dr. Seuss was born on March 2, 1904 in Springfield, Massachusetts. Seuss began cartooning full when he returned to America. He published illustrations in many magazines. He later the next 15 years advertising for Standard Oil. Dr. Seuss turned to political cartoon as World War II started. Dr. Seuss then wrote “The Cat in the Hat,” which used 220 words (Source 13.)
