There Will Come Soft Rains is a short story written by Ray Bradbury. This out of the ordinary short story is not about people, but about the dull technology that was left behind after a tragic event. The “weather box” announces the weather and then the garage doors start to slowly open indicating that it is time for everyone to leave and make their way to work/school. Around 8:30 the kitchen prepares to clean itself. The rain stops at 10:00. Now I come to realization that this seems to be the only house standing in the entire city after this atomic war. 10:15 hits, the house is still continues it’s daily routine by turning on the sprinklers and watering the so called yard they have. Looking at the house, I find out that one side is all black and charred except for the silhouette of two adults and two children. Also the family had owned a dog. It was noon when the dog started whining at the door begging to be let in by its owners but then to realize that there is none home. Eventually he dies, he wasn’t going to last long
