Last weekend and this week I have spent a lot of time searching for information relevant to my thesis about mass incarceration in the APUS library. So far I have found three sources from three different databases. The first source I found was a scholarly journal from the ProQuest database and the tittle of the scholarly journal is “Five theses on mass incarceration” (De Giorgi, 2016, p. 5). This journal will help me a great deal because the author essentially takes the problem of mass incarceration and discuss it with his audience from five different perspectives while supporting his arguments with statistic and research from credible sources (De Giorgi, 2016). Another helpful thing about this scholarly journal in particular is that the author does a very good job at explaining the impact that mass incarceration has on disadvantaged people, communities of color, and the rise of the privatization of prisons (De Giorgi, 2016). All of that will help me when I discuss the sections of racial inequality and budget restrains of mass incarceration in my paper. I definitely recommend the ProQuest database because it has a lot of good peer reviewed information and what I like the most is that it allows you to download the article or journal into your own computer as a PDF file. This database consists of academic videos and it can also be found in the APUS library, I definitely recommend it for secondary sources. In this database I found a helpful academic video for my paper titled “Exploring alternatives to prison and probation” (Tuchman, 1992). In my paper I will have a section in which I will suggest feasible solutions to some of the problems that will be discussed in the paper, this academic video can help me have an idea and guide me when suggesting these possible
