When prompted to write an essay, I begin by getting a pencil and paper and brainstorming every idea that comes to mind. How the topic applies to my life and my past experiences. If I am allowed to do research I will spend about an hour reading up on my topic. After I am satisfied with the amount of topics I have, I will then try to create subtopics under each in order to provide my reader with enough information on each main topic. After all of these steps in my outline, I then attempt to rearrange my ideas into some sort of order that flows. After I have written down everything I can think of, I will write my thesis statement. Then I begin writing my body paragraphs. I try to keep each paragraph to a minimum of 2 topics depending on how much
