How do you respond to conflict? A conflict is a serious disagreement or argument. Many people respond to conflict in their own ways, which can be the same or different to other people. A person’s response to a conflict can have a negative or positive impact on that person or the people around them. Most conflicts have a negative impact on a person because when you hear the word conflict you think of a problem. In my opinion, you can have both negative or positive on yourself.
Many people have negative impacts when it comes to a problem or a conflict. Conflict can start arguments or a disagreement. Having a negative impact on someone can make or break something. There can be external conflicts or internal conflicts that create a negative response. An example of an negative impact would be that maybe you are playing a football game, and you and your teammate get into a argument. This may cost you the game because you and your teammate can’t get along. If you don’t solve conflict right away they can make negative outcomes really fast. We need to make our conflicts turn into a positive impact. In Things Fall Apart, there are many conflicts that turn into a negative situation. For example, when Okonkwo beats his wife, this makes us not like Okonkwo for what he has done to her.

Some conflicts can have a positive and a negative impact at the same time. For example, when I was little i was playing kickball I had a straw in my mouth, and a kid kick the ball and it hit my straw. When that happened is punctured a hole in my mouth that could have possibly had killed me, if the straw punctured a little closer to my throat. This made me realize that i’m lucky to be alive and to make the best of it. It made me miss a few football games, but it also showed me not play a sport with a straw in my house.
