This Lullaby- Sarah Dessen Somebody: Remy Star was a typical teenage girl from the outside, but was far from typical on the inside. She had long dark hair and dark eyes. She was the girl who had amazing grade, and got a full ride scholarship offer to Stanford. Remy was the daughter of famous author Barbara Star and her father was a musician, who tragically died when she was young. She looked like an angel, compared to her crazy brother, who dropped out of college. Remy is a very strong, mature girl, who think she doesn't need anyone in her life, except herself. This is because her high matinence, mother has been married and divorced five times, so she has a very cynical view of love and relationships. Since she was a little girl she had been living her mother's life and taking care of both her mother and brother. It was almost as if, she was the mom. She wants to move on and start taking care of herself, and only herself. She doesn't have time to take care of her friends, let alone a boy. Moving across the country, seemed like the perfect way to do this. She wants to leave her town, bagage free, and never look back. But: When Remy was at work and Dexter walked in, everything changed. All of a sudden she was attached to a boy and her cynical view on love had changed. Dexter started to show her that she can live her own life and her life will not turn out like her mothers.
