Thomas and Virginia Bell, and their cocker spaniel Midnight were a complete family unit. Thomas was a handsome 60-year-old, with a chiseled mustache, just above the broad smile that flashed his perfect, pearly white teeth. Although he was slight in build, he was a giant and a king, to all who knew him. His skin was smooth, dense, and rich, like glistening, dark chocolate fudge, complemented by glossy, raven, black waves, sculpted, overnight, by a stocking cap, and Murray's Pomade. He had beady black eyes, that sparkled when he smiled, and a playful-impish way about him—it always seemed as if he was on his way to, or from some kind of mischief. His 57-year-old wife, Virginia, was the great love of his life. She was quiet, insightful, and peaceful. Virginia was small in stature, slightly plump, with an hourglass figure, plus, an extra half hour added on. She had keen features, olive skin, with freckles, short-bobbed, chestnut, hair, and dark mahogany eyes that would light up each time she laughed. A seamstress by trade, Virginia produced exquisite work, fit for a queen. Their adorable little black and white cocker spaniel Midnight was their only child. During dinner each night, Thomas and Virginia would take turns, reaching under the table to feed him scraps of meat from their dinner plates. He would join them for after dinner cocktails, eagerly lapping the chilled liquor out of their glasses as they sat and watched their nightly television shows.
