Norman Thomas was an American socialist, frequent candidate for political office, and a social reformer. He graduated from Union Theological Seminary in New York City, accepted the pastorate of the East Harlem Church and the chairmanship of the American Parish.
This made him an important contributor because he was know to be a great person. The Sons of Liberty and other patriot groups put their trust in him and they gave him huge responsibilities. Not only did this show how good Revere’s character was, it also showed his personal motivation to help and lead. Paul Revere was a man that wanted to keep thing the same but he knew that the King and Parliament were not being fair.

Growing up in the environment I did allowed me to live without the oppression that Peekay experienced in his daily life. The main character, Bigger Thomas, had many internal conflicts that led to his demise. Bigger’s perception of the segregated world in the late 1900’s, clouded his judgment.
