Thomas Edison Thomas Edison was born on February 11, 1847. He was very impractical as a child, he had big dreams. Coming from a middle-class family he was stuck at a school with a teacher who didn’t have time to be bothered with his questions, so his parents had to home-school him. At the time, they didn’t have the scientist to label him as ADHD but if he had been, it would have saved him some trouble throughout his young life. His main interest was science, but his parents couldn’t afford the the schooling he would need to support his love. His for science and electricity grew with age made a pathway as he got older to invent the things he did. Edisons first invention was an electric voting machine, the machine would be used to cast votes for congress immediately from their sets. His invention was dismissed because it would interfere with the delicate counting system. The world is a busy place with no time to worry about a gas lamp. Light bulbs help everyone see the world around them, rather it be with just walking down a hallway or seeing at night. Either way a light bulb is something that could have either broke and made this world. Also, you have to think about things as a bigger picture and think about what may not have been invented because some people couldn’t see, like would be have cars? Would they be able to see with a gas lamp? I believe the world would be a dark place, not literally, but without the light bulb the only source of light we’d have is the sun and that's only during the day. A light bulb affects everyone, rather they see it or not. Without a light bulb you wouldn't see it lol… Imagine walking down down stairs without a light on, night time, and you can’t see you’d trip and fall down the stairs. A light bulb lights up everything around us… Without it, where would we be right
