Introduction (100) Throughout history, an era with Thomas Jefferson was pretty controversial…Some people still arguing his policies and leadership, however, somebody praised what Jefferson did during his presidency, like gave the liberty of citizens. There is not doubt that Thomas Jefferson is a man whom should be remembered. Jefferson's attempted solution, an embargo upon American shipping, worked badly and was unpopular. Louisiana Purchase (1803): Before the purchase was finalized, the decision faced Federalist Party opposition; they argued that it was unconstitutional to acquire any territory. Jefferson agreed that the U.S. Constitution did not contain explicit provisions for acquiring territory, but he asserted that his constitutional power to negotiate treaties was sufficient. For Jefferson, he believed informed citizens could make a good decision for themselves, even for their country, so he thought the government could be ruled by people, and that was the Democratic Republican Party and they supported what the Constitution said. In addition, in this conditions, people could enjoy more freedom. Finally, Democratic Republican’s economy based on agriculture, because they opposed the growth of business and manufacturing. Alexander Hamilton’s family was not that well compare to the Jefferson’s. For Hamilton, because George Washington spotted Hamilton’s talents in the Revolutionary War and let Hamilton to be his assistant, he became a part of America history from that time. His views came from his experiences, like most Federalists, he thought people are always selfish so the government could not give too much power to the public, the country should be governed by wealthy class and they wanted a strong national government. Besides, Hamilton wanted government to expand the business and manufacturing as well. In my opinion, their views are still relevant today, because countries need liberty for the citizens just like the Jefferson said, and also need diversity of economic to prosper just like the Hamilton
