Chapter 9 The Jefferson Era was between 1800 and 1816. It started with The Federalist and Republican Parties fighting an election campaign in 1800. Federalists supported President Adams and Charles Pinckney for vice president. Republicans nominated Thomas Jefferson for president and Aaron Burr as his running mate.
Jefferson 's contributions to the develpoment of democracy in the United States was unmatched by anyone. He wrote the document the founded our nations freedom and independence. " He was one of the two or three key philosophical thinkers of his time that laid the ideological foundation of America"(Jacobson). His ideas and philosophies are what shaped our country into what it is today. He was also a large supporter of the spread of knowledge. "
Thomas Jefferson had an enormous impact on the American society. He influenced America to unite as one nation. He shaped a strong central government and had a judicial exceed. If he hadn’t shaped a strong government maybe we wouldn’t have the rights we have today. He proceeded by doing this by influencing the constitution.
He guaranteed to represent as he felt the Founders proposed, in view of decentralized government and trust in the general population to settle on the correct choices for themselves. From that point onward, these have turned out to be known as Jeffersonian principles. Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence and steeped in the rationalist ideals of the Enlightenment, now had the opportunity to put his philosophy into action. He continued to express his trust in educated citizens, yet every one of them men to govern themselves through majority rule over a few landed aristocrats. He comes to the conclusion that this gives reason to favor Burr, however still believes that he could possibly prefer Jefferson.
The economy changed as well, due to the revolution, because of the war period there was respect for debt, taxes and agriculture. The direction for the development of economic growth was still a quarrel between the North and the South. A good example for the Northern view point on economic growth is Alexander Hamilton. Alexander advocated for the development of an economy based on industry with a central focus on urban growth. However, Anti-Federalists or, the Southern viewpoint, thought it best to have an agrarian society that contained large slave populations.

Thomas Jefferson was a great man, which, he played an important role in changing the destiny of the American republic, by being a man of many talents. For instance, with his intellectual writing he wrote the declaration of independence, Virginia Statute of Religious Freedom, and Notes on the State of Virginia. Also, as an architect, he designed the University of Virginia and his home Monticello, which attracts thousands of visitors now. As well, he was an abolitionist, but yet he was a slave owner.

His interpretation of the constitution goes hand in hand with his philosophy of government which was that the government should protect man's life, liberty, freedom and happiness with a narrow or strict interpretation of the constitution. This quote is important because it allows me to understand that Jefferson has to die because he was the only person in the liquor store and was a black man.
Special Education in America has grown enormously in the last hundred years. In the early 1900s special education classrooms had just recently been organized in the United States and “The first formal training for public school teachers [that taught special education] began at the Training School at Vineland, New Jersey, in 1904 (Johnson 1909; ‘Summer School for Teachers’)” (Trent 294). The first service animals weren’t employed until almost the end of 1928. Disability services weren’t properly provided until well past the 1950’s.
Thomas Jefferson’s legacy shaped the foundation of America today, his ideas on the limiting federal government, the separation of church and state, and the utmost importance of an individual 's personal rights. Limiting help to control potential abuses by the people in power over the citizens who elected them. His influence on limiting the federal government has prevented many crisis’ that have affected other democracies. Furthermore, his beliefs of separation of church and state helped to advance society by keeping the United States of America from becoming a theocracy. Arguably Thomas Jefferson’s biggest accomplishment comes from his incredibly strong and influential effort to further advance the personal rights of each and every citizen.
The ancient Egyptians had strong beliefs that they never once questioned. One of the most important religious beliefs that they had was the preservation of the human body once a person died, a method called mummification. They believed that mummification was the only way to gain immortality. They thought that in order for their Ba, their personality or spirit, to live on after death they needed their physical body preserved. The afterlife for them was just continuing the lives they had on Earth, only better.
