Thomas Jefferson used his influence and diction to provide a mostly ethical and secular framework for The American Economy to predict the future stimulation of America's markets. I say mostly because Jefferson was an avid slaveholder, as confirmed in all three sources and it was this ownership of slaves that was used against him when try to establish the abolition of American slavery, which led to very little progress in civil rights for slaves. The ordinance of 1784 is a testament to how hard Jefferson fought for the abolition of slavery as it only lost by one vote in Congress to ban slavery after the 1800s.
