Considered as the first professional politician to hold office, the creator of the adjective OK, and the founder of the Democratic Party, Van Buren has contributed more to the America as is known today, over the long run, compared to his own immediate contributions as president. In 1791 Benjamin Banneker accuses Thomas Jefferson of being a hypocrite by owning slaves and previously stating, “All men are created equal, and that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” Benjamin Banneker was the son of a former slave. He drafts this letter in 1791, to Thomas Jefferson to address these issues in a respectful and historical tone. Banneker was an educated man (i.e. farmer, astronomer, mathematician, surveyor, and author.) He knew his place in society as well as how society worked.

Humility, one of the best virtues to have, gets used in many characters. In To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee valued humility and incorporated it into the positive characters of the book. She showed many people with non who acted like fools. Then she also had many characters who demonstrated it. She displayed the value of having humility and some of the best characters known for it today come from her book.

Our adaption takes place in Oxford, England, in the year 1888. Focussing on the Kaylock family and a murder that has taken place within it, siblings are feuding with each other over whether the killing of their brother was morally right. Jefferson, the oldest child in the family, had just turned the proud age of 21 when he was attacked and killed by his twin brothers Clarence and Benedict when the family was practicing their hunting. After convincing Jefferson to join them, the twins proceeded to bring him just off the family’s property and shoot him. The boys’ sister Amelia had been left at home for the trip, and only gained knowledge of her brother’s death when the hunting party returned, dragging Jefferson’s body back with them on the
Thomas Jefferson was thinking about Beverly Hemings again. Beverly was a splendid slave and was very caring, but also one of his sons. It broke Thomas to think that one of his children couldn’t be free or even in general be looked at “equally.”. Although, one afternoon Thomas walked over to the window and took a look out to Beverly. Thomas was thinking about ways to get Beverly freed because he couldn’t deal with it any longer.
If I could give advice to anyone it would be Alexander Hamilton. There is so much advice he could use throughout history like the fact that i would tell him that when Eliza and Angelica tell him to take a break that it’s in his best interest that he listens, I’d also tell him not to let Philip go to the duel with George Eacker, I’d tell him not to go to the duel with Burr, I’d tell him to not let Laurens go alone, and I’d tell him to stay alive for Eliza. My first piece of advice I’d give him is to listen to Eliza and Angelica when they tell him to take a break. If Alexander listens to Eliza and Angelica he would’ve never had the affair with Maria Reynolds and he wouldn’t have had to go through all the efforts of writing the Reynolds Pamphlet and then he and Eliza would’ve never had to fight for how long they did.
At the beginning of the preamble, Thomas Jefferson makes four assertions, four rights the people have and cannot be argued about. Two of the four assertions made include, “all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights” (168). These two statements Jefferson makes point out that all people are equal under god, and that those same people are born with certain rights which include Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of happiness. The last two claims Jefferson suggest that the government “derives their just powers from the consent of the governed” and that if the people feel threatened by the government they can “alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government” (168). A person daily life is hectic and it just best to let go.
