Thomas Jefferson was a smart man. He was the author of the Declaration of Independence and also had input into the writing of the Constitution. He once said, "The Constitution belongs to the living and not to the dead." Jefferson said this because the world is ever changing. There are always improvements made everything and more people are born thus more opinions are formed.
People can accomplish many great achievement in their lifetime, which allows people to feel like they are standing on ‘Cloud Nine.’ However, people can also experience failures too, which can make that day feel as if it was the worst one the have ever had. Many people feel this way, including former-President, Thomas Jefferson. He had many accomplishments, in which he probably felt good about, but he also had some failures too. Thomas Jefferson contributed to American politics in many good ways.
Thomas Jefferson was the third elected president of the United States. He believed violence and war was unjustifiable, foreign alliances should be avoided, and was a advocate that the constitution should be strictly interpreted. His beliefs and desire to make America a powerful nation contradicted each other during the Tripolitan war, the Louisiana Purchase, and the Embargo Act. Jefferson was challenged personally and philosophically. Before the Tripolitan War, Jefferson wanted the United States to set an example for the world by not using military forces and gaining friends by peaceful coercion.
Here we stand mourning the loss of a good person, Tomas Jefferson. He died on July 4th, 1826, of unknown causes and was expected. But his health has decreased since 1818, when he visited Warm Springs. He first had bowel problems, then problems with his legs and deafness. Jefferson got married to Martha Skelton and had 6 children.

His father, Peter Jefferson, however, wasn’t a descendant of royalty, but a successful farmer and skilled surveyor and cartographer who mass produced the first accurate map of Virginia.
Luis Sevilla For: Dr. Stephens History 1301 42T 12 October 2015 Review #2 Does Thomas Jefferson come across as a great man, or a petty one? That is all based on opinion. From the little that is taught about Thomas Jefferson he comes across as a great man. Jefferson is not only known as a founding father he is also a big symbol in American History
Thomas Jefferson took the presidential vow of office in March 1801, in which he promised to give back and reward the "uncorrupted republicanism" that encouraged the Revolutionary period. He called his victory the "Upset of 1800," accepting that his win meant that political and social change could happen in the new country without falling back on cruelty or violence. The decision demonstrated that power could calmly interchange starting with one assembly, the Federalists, then the next, the Democratic-Republicans. The swapping of political gatherings represented a defining moment in American legislative issues.
Our Founding Fathers R Elitist Bigots So It’s Our Civic Duty 2 Deport Straight White Males The very use of the word, “men” in Jefferson’s famous line illustrates his views on society as a whole- that rights should be reserved only for land-owning, educated white men. Thomas Jefferson was quite the paradox.
•“She was not even listening. She had gotten tired of listening. She knew, as we all knew, what the outcome would be. A white man had been killed during a robbery, and thought two of the robbers had been killed on the spot, one had been captured, and he, too, would have to die” (4). This quote is important because it allows me to understand that Jefferson has to die because he was the only person in the liquor store and was a black man.
Thomas Jefferson’s works and ideas laid the foundation for several key aspects on the limits of the United States government, the idea of separation of church and state, and the importance of personal rights. Jefferson wrote many influential pieces of literature which pushed the concept of having limited government power. Jefferson wanted America not to be like the European monarchies that fell due to religious strife, so he emphasized a secular government. Jefferson, following closely with the ideas of John Locke, stressed the importance of the protection of individual rights against the government. Thomas Jefferson believed that a government should have limitations.
I agree with Henry David Thoreau because if you think about it in anything you do you have to put in time to do it well. Anything that you do in life is going to take some time but if you want to do something well you will have to put more time into whatever you are doing. There are many things that require a lot of time and practice before you can do it well. One example of this is sports. Sports require a lot of time and practice before you become good at it.
Thomas Jefferson wrote "Determine never to be idle... It is wonderful how much may be done if we are always doing." So do we accomplish more if we are always doing something, or does inactivity also serve a purpose. In my opinion if we are always doing and being inactivity that would be a good thing I believe. Also other people may think differently they may think that being inactivity would be also better then doing.
TIME For us human’s only one thing should really matters and is not health, influence or power like almost the entire humanity believes to be. But, rather “TIME” is the greatest common dominator any human can possess.
Therefore, one should not waste their time on idleness and inactiveness, but instead with productivity and industriousness. Thomas Jefferson once wrote, “Work while it is called today, for you know not how much you will be hindered tomorrow. One today is worth two tomorrow's; never leave that till tomorrow which you can do today.” This quote by Jefferson signifies that each day is of value and that no day should be wasted. He is trying to help people understand that at any moment their life could end and they would not be able to make up the lost time.
In Carl Honore’s book Slow Is Beautiful, he talks about slowing down and how people should live in their time. In Walker Percy’s essay The Loss of the Creature, he talks about living life for yourself and not for approval. These two authors come together and bring to light that we should slow down and live life for ourselves. Time is something that no one seems to have anymore, but that
