Thomas Manmade Virus In Ayn Rand's The Maze Runner

In this post dystopian world, a universal plague threatens life and everyone in it. This terror, known as the “Flare”, is a manmade virus that slowly eats away at the brain. There is no way to hide from this disease. It was created to destroy the human race, and spawn a new “perfect” race. What the creators did not know at the time, was some extraordinary individuals were immune to this deadly pathogen. Among these “special” people is Thomas, someone who does not recognize his importance and strengths in part of this experiment. He is placed in a giant maze to test his intelligence and survival skills. Thomas wakes up surrounded by other boys his age with no memory past due his arrival. He soon is to find out all the boys are placed in the glade for a reason unknown. Thomas is set to find out that reason when the arrival of an unexpected individual arrives. For the first time, the creators send the Gladers a girl. Upon her arrival, she is attached with a note the Gladers do not understand, and instantly recognizes Thomas, making him an prompt threat to the others. This occurrence put a red flag on Thomas. Thomas presented this trait multiple times when faced with a frightening position, but went forward anyway. Living in the glade itself is a brave act, but numerous Gladers did exceptional things for the power of friendship. An example being, when Thomas ran into the maze to help Minho and Alby as the doors closed. The indicated shows how far Thomas and his friends will go to save the only family they have. The creators of WICKED are performing an inhumane act of cruelty. Simply because the kids don’t cracked under pressure and continue to persevere in spite of the difficulty, shows a tremendous amount of bravery to push forward with the fight against
