In school or even in your own family there that one person who only cares about themselves and that every day is there day, but in the book THREE by Kristen Simmons, it shows how someone who is so selfish can change their ways and become selfless. In the book, Maddix's city was hit by a boom that would send out a noise that would make your bones super weak. In the beginning, Maddix was only concerned about his self and only him. He wants to be safe and away from all the trouble that the boom brought. But Maddix had a change of heart when he saw a lady drag her body from the rubble of the boom to safety. While he was eating and watching the new the television started to blare out a warning noise of a missile strike that was alerting them to evacuate the city. “Maddix found his self in a loss of word and in a panicked rush to get out of the city”. While he was walking out of his apartment he found his self-trapped in a sea full of people who were also trying to leave. “(Why did we have to find out about this so late I could have been out of here and to safety far away from these bums)”. While Maddix was going to his car he saw a signal mother who needed help with putting her things in the car she asked for his help but he just keeps on walking like he didn’t notice her. Maddix finally made it to his car and started to leave but as he was leaving he sped his motor through that parking the garage not caring about any of the people who were walking to their car just his self.
