The book I chose to read is called "Three Cups of Tea", written by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin. "Three Cups of Tea" is about the journey of Greg Mortenson from mountaineer to a humanitarian. The story is based on the Mortenson's missions to build school for underprivileged children in the Korphe, Pakistan. The book focused on the empowerment of education. It takes me approximately 2 weeks to complete. The basic topics addressed by the books are: cultural shock, empowerment through education, building relationships, family role, Hardships and contribution, language and mode of communication, etc. Reading the book about people experience and contribution has always been my hobby. My perspective about life and the happiness change. Before, I did not use to think about the privileges I have been enjoying such as: education, healthcare, technology, etc. I did not appreciate the entitlement that I have. It is very easy to not to think about underprivileged people when individuals have everything they need. I never thought that ordinary man can make such a great difference in people lives. This book has really inspired me to stand up and make a difference. The story helped me to see the importance of making a difference in my community. I personally got the message that if you see a problem, no matter what your situation is, there is always something you can do to help. For example, Mortensen saw a lack of education in the village of Korphe, and even though he had very little money, he was able to raise funds to build a school for the people. The book also made me realize that by helping one person in need, or in the case of the memoir, one village, you impact many
