Ultimately, the order supports a compensation retributive model in America’s court system. A similar spiritual comparison is stated in one of the most popular verses in the Christian faith. In John 3:16 it says, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Due to our sinful nature, it was required for God to send his one and only son as a compensatory to relinquish us from our sin.

On the stele, carved on where the laws that were to be followed. Hammurabi listed a Prologue, which included a list of the names of the gods, which stated that they have given him the right to rule. The key emphasis was on the righteousness of God, who they thought directed all things according to His will. They were also very partial to the teachings of the Old Testament. To them, humans were born sinful and could not earn goodness in the eyes of God. However, by doing honorable actions and holding strong values, they could be chosen by God as worthy of salvation. Confession of sins was typically a public routine, as one can see when Proctor objects to the courts demand that his sins be written out and nailed to the wall.
The conflict in the novel “Of Mice And Men” by John Steinbeck is all created by the relationships of the people in it. If Lennie or George or Curley’s wife was any different, there would be no story. Steinbeck tries to show the sacrifices we make for each other in friendship, even if it’s in the extreme case of killing someone for their happiness and well-being. In other cases characters give up their American dream (in Curley’s wife’s case, her performing dream) for someone else.

I found this weeks reading assignment rather interesting, it discussed several valuable ideas some I had poundered myself. The author details his idea that “natural selection does not care about the quality of our golden years” meaning that nature only cares about one's ability to reproduce and to raise offspring. As long as they are able to mature without any complications and bring in the next generation, you have successfully contributed to nature.

This covenant is found in Exodus 19-24 and Deuteronomy. These books are the structure for the Judicial law which the Israelites follow even to this day. In Exodus 20 is where we find the Ten Commandment. These are the basic few out of the 613 laws that God requires the Israelites to follow. I have a hard enough time remembering the Ten Commandments yet alone the 613 laws required to be holy before God.
God made covenants with the Jewish people. The first covenant was between God and Abraham. God chose Abraham to be the father of a group of people that would be special to God. God said Abraham and his descendants must obey God and live their life in a way that shows the world God was the only supreme God. In return God would protect them, help them, and give them the land of Canaan to live.
