Tim Burton's Style Tim Burton, as a director, can use visual elements to create the mood and tone in his movies.In movies such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Edward Scissorhands, he uses many techniques to set the mood for the viewer. Tim Burton is a genius in using color, lighting, and music to create a fantasy-like, unrealistic mood.His films often capture the attention of his viewers and keeps them intrigued. Tim Burton uses a variety of colors to create many different kinds of moods.For example, in the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the television room is painted completely white to give a more technology based science fiction feel.Even Willy's employee's who work in the room are dressed in white.From what I watched, in the movie Edward Scissorhands the neighborhood that all the characters live in, have their houses painted a pastel color.This gives the neighborhood an innocent look.Burton is known for his excellent use of color and does a significant job at deciding what colors to select so it helps create the mood.
