I choose Timothy D. Cook not only because he is the current CEO of Apple Inc., but because he is also a symbol and leader for the world in several ways. His effort towards technological advances and financial savvy has led Apple into profitability and has given our generation many things we use everyday. Making Apple a technological leader around the world and subsequently Cook a symbol as well. Also Tim is a symbol for the LGBT community as the first openly gay CEO in the world. Showing many young people in this community that progress is being made not only in the technology world but socially as well.

At this point it not developed the iMac, iPod, iPhone nor iPad yet, which would eventually skyrocket their profits through the roof. At this point in their history, Apple Inc. was seeing declining profits and the company's future did not look good at all. It was so bad that many people stated that the company would eventually go out of business. Tim Cook took on the challenge anyway and completely turned around the company when he became the chief operating officer for Apple. Within one year Cook turned the company around and reported profits for the 1998 fiscal year, when they reported a loss of one billion the prior fiscal year. After the death of Steve Jobs in October of 2011, Cook took over as CEO for Apple Inc and sits as a member of the board of directors. We can see that Cook was able to take this challenge head on with other great leaders like Steve Jobs beside him.
