Tim Hortons is an international company known for serving coffee and donuts with top-notch quality but inexpensive price. Their head office is located at Oakville, Ontario but in the near future will move to Exchange Tower in Toronto. The corporation’s strategic intent is to bring innovation to their own company by expanding their operations. This is also known as a “corporate-level of strategy formulation”. The business has been on existence for 53 years, starting from May 17, 1964. In addition, the company sells variety of products such as hot and cold beverages, tea, breakfast, sandwiches and wraps, salads, sides, soup, hot bowls, snacks and baked goods. As an international business, Tim Hortons is part of a foreign direct investment, particularly a wholly-owned subsidiary. Furthermore, Burger King acquired Tim Hortons for $11.4 billion in 2016 and became a subsidiary of an Oakville based company “Restaurant Brands International” which is majorly owned by Brazilian Investment Firm 3G Capital. …show more content…

In the company’s current state, Tim Hortons has 4,590 restaurants overall: 3,665 in Canada, 869 in the United States, which happens to be first highest major trading partners of the country. Not to mention, that the corporation also have business in United Arab Emirates, Philippines and United Kingdom which is also the second highest major trading partner of Canada. In addition to this, the chief executive of Tim Hortons led the company to expand internationally since their focus is to have a short-term plan by establishing the brand where it makes sense. This is accomplished through many methods such as the company reviewing its target demographic and priorities.
