Timothy Richard Tebow was born on August 14, 1987. He was born to two Baptist missionaries in the Philippines. His mother had an infection while pregnant with Tebow, and the doctors thought the infection would leave to a stillbirth; however, the doctors were wrong and Tebow was born without complications (Contemporary Authors Online). Tim Tebow’s story does not end with the miracle story of his birth; it is just the beginning of Tebow’s story.
The Christian faith is important to the Tebow family, and they decided it would be best for all their children to be homeschooled (Newsmakers.) In 1996, Florida began to allow homeschooled students to play football at public high school. Tebow decided to play for the Nease High School team (Newsmakers). Tebow’s years at Nease High School did not go unnoticed, and he soon began to be known “not only for his running and throwing, but also for his extreme competitiveness” (Newsmakers). He is the founder of the Tim Tebow Foundation. This foundation has given many people hope. One of the events the Tim Tebow Foundation does is a “Night to Shine” prom. This prom was created to honor youth with disabilities explains the the article “Tim Tebow Foundation Outreach: Night to Shine Prom.” The same article also states that “this nationwide event took place simultaneously at 44 churches in 26 states and 3 countries. Oftentimes Tebow tries to make it to as many events as he can to surprise the guests. Activities at the “Night to Shine” proms include: “a red carpet entrance with paparazzi, limousine rides, hair and makeup beauty stations, shoe shines, a dance floor, food and much more” (Tim Tebow Foundation Outreach: Night to Shine Prom”). Tebow wants this night to be unforgettable for the youth
