In the beginning of this movie I thought Tim Thomas aka Ben was Stage One: The Liar. He seemed closed off and unable to distinguish fantasy from reality, by stealing his brothers Federal ID badge and by lying to all those people about who he was. Then later in the movie we find out he is really a Stage Five: The Servant. He was just making sure the people he chose to donate his body and estate to, were who they seem to be. The real Ben Thomas who is the younger brother of Tim Thomas was Stage Two: The Conformist in the beginning. Whenever they showed him in the movie he was dressed in a suit and yelling at his brother to get his life together. In the beginning of this movie I believe she is a Stage 2: The Conformist, because she abides by her boyfriend’s rules out of fear. I believe she stayed in this role throughout the movie even after Tim gave her a way out and his home. When it comes to people who have been abused, no matter how much freedom they have, they are never truly free. So she will always abide by the rules out of fear. Holly is one of Tim’s friends that works’ as an employee at child services center. I believe she is a Stage 4: The Mystic, because everything about her screams compassionate and caring. Her life is devoted to helping children get out of bad situations and into a better home. Then she helps out Connie Tempos, who might have died if Holly didn’t tell Tim her situation. George is a Stage 4: The Mystic. In this movie Tim tells him, “You’re a good person, even when people aren’t looking.” Not to mention he raised money to start a scholarship, so kids less fortunate could have a chance to go to college and continue to play hockey. He stays in this stage throughout the movie, he stays caring and generous. I determine Tim to be a good person because even though he did steal his brother’s ID and badge, he used it to help the less fortunate. He found good and deserving people and gave them freedom, vision, and overall gave his life to save theirs. That is why I think he is a good
