Time Machine Research Paper : Joan Of Arc Joan of Arc was a young peasant girl who fought for her homeland France against the English who were invading it. At age 13 she heard the voices of Saint Catherine, Saint Margare, and Saint Micheal. She then knew it was her duty to aid Charles for him to be crowned king, by fighting with soldiers. She was laughed at when she told Vaucouleurs in France, however Joan promised Charles that he would be crowned king. She was then granted an army of troops to battle against the English. She saved Orleans by leading the troops while listening to the voices in her head. Her mission however was to crown Charles VII as the king of France. Not only is it so brave, incredible, and astonishing, but it is that a woman led an army and beat the enemy. That isn't heard often in history. I salute these kinds of historical figures. She is among a few that proved that it's not only men who made history and gained respect. What made it even more interesting to me was that she was a teenager who was uneducated and poor. This is a story that is unbelieveable and a miracle. I have doubts because it is so amazing to believe. I think Joan really stands out from all the biographies I've read. I am not a feminist, however, I love proving that women are capable of anything. Reading about how women made history is something I have become fond of because I personally get annoyed when hearing that women are the weaker sex and that this is a man's world. She is an inspiration to me. It is not her fighting that was an inspiration, but her confidence and proving that gender and age won't keep you from acheiving my goals. She wasn't the typical shy, sweet housewife. She was independent, courageous, and a leader. It really made my day to read about her
