Timothy McVeigh Perhaps the most notorious lone wolf terrorist, Timothy McVeigh, committed the most fatal act of lone wolf terrorism in the history of the United States in 1995. Often referred to as the Oklahoma City bombing, McVeigh denoted a truck-bomb outside the Alfred P. He was an anti-government militant who sort revenge against the United States government for the Waco siege that occurred two years earlier. He received the death penalty and was executed by lethal injection in 2001 Compared to the other cases that have been discussed thus far, there is no doubt McVeigh had co-conspirators and received assistance. Although, he carried out the act by himself, days following the attack, the FBI discovered that a friend of McVeigh’s named Terry Nichols helped make the bomb and another man Michael Fortier had previous knowledge of the bomb attack. …show more content…
Nichols shared the same ideology and views about the United States government as McVeigh’s. Although Nichols was in Kansas at the time of the attack, he played a primarily role in constructing the bomb. Months prior to the attack, he stole dynamite and purchased large quantities of ammonium nitrate fertilizer used in the attack. Michael Fortier played less of a role as compared to Nichols, however, he was found guilty for not alerting officials on the plot
