Would you want to go on an unsinkable ship that is the best in it’s time?What if suddenly it wasn’t so unsinkable anymore? That’s what happened to the Titanic the ¨unsinkable¨ maiden ship.
What happened
The best ship of it’s time,the maiden ship Titanic is going on it’s first voyage.The voyage which was sure to be a success because the ship was practically unsinkable. The first five days went perfectly. Everyone was happy and most of them had gone to bed that night but a few stragglers were still partying on the deck and the ship got a few morse code messages about near icebergs and the wonderful Titanic kept going full speed ahead. The guards that were on the bridge noticed a hazy bulky shape in the distance. They immediately recognized it as an iceberg. They tried to pull away from it but it was too late the “unsinkable” ship was three hours from sinking because the iceberg had left gashes in the starboard side of the ship letting in 39,000 gallons of water at 11:40 which filled six “watertight” compartments. They thought it was just a drill and the first class thought they were too good for it until the ship started to tip a little and the they all took it seriously and started to get on their life jackets and going up to the top deck to get in life boats. Most the third class died plus most men on second and first class because the rule was that women and children went first. Some men wanted the life of themselves to much because some of them jumped into the icy cold waters of the Atlantic and hoped they would get saved from a lifeboat that was willing enough to risk getting sucked in with the ship. Only one lifeboat came back to look for survivors. Most were already frozen to death because of the below freezing water temperatures. Some of the ones that did survive died shortly after because of frostbites or other
