By the time of fifth day of the voyage journey, Titanic was making nice progress across the Atlantic Ocean. Earlier in the day Captain Edward Smith had planned out a new route because hearing of other reports of ice from other ship liners, there were a lot of different spottings from many ship lines that day of ice in the Titanic 's path course. On the night of Sunday April 14 1912, the sea was flat and still, the sky was dark but clear and there was no moon, and the temperature was dropping down fast towards freezing.
