My topic I am doing is how title lX has its effect on college athletic programs and men’s sports. Title is a controversial Law That has raised many conflicts with colleges and other funded establishments. Title IX is “no person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving federal financial assistance”. Initially drafted to make sure equal opportunities for women in sports today Title lX applies to all forms of sexual harassment and assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking. Sexual violence needs to be treated as the serious and devastating phenomenon that it is. Violence perpetrated …show more content…

Women are equally or if anything more talented in the same sports as men are . Like in gymnastics or water polo women have earned their stripes in the Olympics. And an example is each year women are getting stronger and faster and are slowly closing the gap between the male and female barrier. Like females are running faster times in track and field getting closer to male times in a lot of events. So discrimination shouldn’t be a problem anymore but it still is. To stop discrimination I think we should introduce Title IX for often and pound it into people’s mind. Because it’s not talked about enough in today’s world and that’s why it’s still an issue. And I feel people don’t know enough about it to try and stop it for good. As a lot of good has come from Title lX it has its downs too for many female athletes. And spread the awareness of Title lX and what all it has done and how many doors it has opened for women all around the world from black to white it doesn’t matter all ethnics. And we all should be treated equally. There Shouldn’t be any gender barriers. Some people still think women should stay in the house and stick to household chores and they are still are stereotyping. Title lX should be taught in schools more often I feel it’s not spoken about so not enough people know about it or enough about Title lX. Cause I know I didn’t really know about it until we started talking about Title lX in class I didn’t know it was a thing I just thought women didn’t want to play sports back then I didn’t know they weren’t allowed to join sports or have jobs. They weren’t expected to do much. Hopefully one day girls and women won’t be judged on gender and will be able to be equal and won’t be seen as any less then there male counter partners. Title lX has been put there for both men and women not just women. The reason I chose to talk about Title lX is because we talk about Title lX all the time is class. There are strict rules the schools and companies have to abide by but do they always do so no. And if caught they might be in big
