Many times books have a movie to go with it, but many times the movie is better than the book. Regarding the romance novel To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, written by Jenny Han, the movie is far superior. The conflicts that were faced and overcome in the movie were better because they were stronger and more romantic. The character representation was better in the movie because of their personalities and the tone they used. Lastly, the plot change in the movie was better because it kept it more interesting. Also, in the movie the people get to listen to the characters' tones when speaking to others and their body language. An example where personalities are shown in the movie is when Lara Jean found out that John Ambrose from model UN was volunteering at the same place. Lara Jean froze. She slipped and hit her head. She woke up with John Ambrose staring at her. This shows the person watching the movie that John Ambrose is very caring and likes to help people. It was not needed because it did not impact the book. Lara Jean got over her fear of driving, but the author stayed on her hating driving so much that when she did like to drive, it was lost in everything else. In the book, the author gave the reader all the information on how Lara Jean's mother died. That also made no impact on the book with that information.
