It was then that I realized there was an issue, a big one. Neighbours have started gather around the Radley Place, there was no way of getting out of this. As we walked towards the Radley Place, Scout and I saw Mr Nathan Radley standing in his yard, shotgun across his arms. I participated in conversations with neighbours eagerly, hoped that they would ignore the fact that I was standing there without pants, shaking. Mr. Nathan Radley claims that he shot at a Negro that was strolling on it property. It turned out no one has suspected anything from us, yet. “Where are your pants, son?” Atticus asked. “Pants, sir?” I stuttered nervously. My mind went blank. How am I supposed to tell him? “We were playin’ strip poker up yonder by the fishpool.” That was a close call. If it wasn’t for Dill, I would never be able to face my neighbours again. But I have to do something, fast, before tomorrow morning, or else Atticus will soon find out all the dirty deeds I have done. I waited until I was sure that Scout was asleep, and quietly grabbed my coat. ”Are you crazy?” Scout was up, great, “Sh-h.
