To Kill a Mockingbird Argumentative Paper
The Historical fiction novel To Kill a Mockingbird is a classic American novel. Throughout the book there are many themes and lesson you could learn from it. But, there is one theme that shines above the rest. In To Kill a Mockingbird, there is a lot of racism due to the time period and location. A huge part of the plot is racism towards blacks and that shows in many ways but, the biggest way it shows is through the trial of Tom Robinson. In the constitution of the United States of America it states that all people are under our justice system are to be treated fair in the court of law. With that statement you would think that would mean an innocent man would never be put away due to discrimination right? Under the justice system of our country and in the book To Kill a Mockingbird, all people are not treated fairly under the court of law due to discrimination and injustice.

He goes out there and works his way through everyone and steals the courtroom He gives every piece of evidence that would suggest the innocence of Tom. He goes so far to give evidence of how it was Mr. Ewell himself that committed this crime. But after the court being out for all of the night the jury still comes with the decision of guilty. Now why is it that if you prove a man innocent in a fair and just court of law that he is still found guilty. The reason for that being that his skin color is darker than the people of the jury. His skin color. The reason a man is sentenced to death for a crime he didn’t commit in a “fair and just” court of law is because of the color of his skin. Because he talks differently and walks differently. That right there proves that our justice system may be thought out to be fair but, it certainly can be horrific at
