Atticus is a responsible character in to reasons. The first reason is a father figure for his kids. He’s protective by telling the kids why its a sin ti shoot a mockingbird. He gets scared when Scout and Jem show up at the lynch mob. He doesn’t want the kids to be in the courtroom when the trial happens.
After she reads Mr.Underwood's editorial about Atticus's losing case, she gains a deeper appreciation for the effort he put in and the importance of standing up for what is right, ultimately influencing her understanding of justice and fairness in the system. Atticus's response to the scuffle with Mr.Ewell reveals his commitment to honesty and integrity, which teaches Scout the importance of standing up for what is right even in difficult situations. He says to Mr.Heck, “If they hear of me saying downtown something different happened—Heck, I won’t have them any more.”
In the book, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Scout and Jem Finch live in the small town known as Maycomb, Alabama during the Great Depression. Over time, Scout learns about the town’s true identity. She and Jem are forced to work for Mrs. Dubose, an old woman who seems to hate children. Accompanying this, Scout and Jem are stuck fearing the lunatic who only comes out from his rickety old home at night, Boo Radley. Atticus Finch, Jem and Scout’s father, was appointed as a lawyer to help defend Tom Robinson, a struggling black man who was framed for abusing Mayella Ewell.
Despite drawbacks for his own family, Atticus was wise to defend Tom Robinson. Atticus felt it was the right thing to do. P. 75 Ch. 9 Tom Robinson would not have received a fair trial without Atticus. Atticus put his family and his reputation in danger.
Imagine a world without an existence of creativity, all spontanious activity, love, and joy. A world without fun. Sounds quite dull doesent it? But how then do all of these characteristics come into the world? Well, by people, of course!
In Harper Lee`s To Kill a Mockingbird, a honest man Atticus portrays himself to act as an upright citizen. Atticus, both an affectionate father and just lawyer lives his life distinct from others. He acts upon biblical standards and applies his wisdom to action towards the beneficial needs of the surrounding community. Atticus sets himself with self-control by resisting retaliation, he acts trustworthy, and earnest.
Atticus teaches his kids young to respect every human being and not to assume the reputation of a human before standing in their shoes, “If you can learn a simple trick, Scout, you’ll get along a lot better with all kinds of folks. You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view until you climb into his skin and walk around it.” (Lee, 39) Atticus explains to his daughter Scout after a long day at school, and absurd day, she shouldn’t conclude a story of a person’s life because of the situations they might be going
Atticus is a very fair man. He treats everyone the same. As his daughter Scout likes to dress in shirts and overalls with a short haircut, Atticus doesn't treat her like she needs to be the stereotype of what a girl is supposed to be like. She doesn’t wear dresses because she doesn't like them and Atticus respects that about her.
In Harper Lee's novel To Kill A Mockingbird, Lee focuses on discrimination in the town of Maycomb, Alabama, which is very present during the 1930's in the South. One of the characters, Atticus Finch, is a white lawyer who is defending a black man, Tom Robinson , of charges of rape. While defending his client, Atticus is also responsible for teaching his two children, Scout and Jem, the importance of moral development. Scout Finch is the ten year old daughter of Atticus Finch.

Yet many people seek opportunities to do what is right only when they think that someone else will view them favorably because of it; others conform to ideals they do not believe just so they can fit in with the group. A true hero is someone who always follows their morals, no matter what.
"It 's a sin to kill a mockingbird. " These words echo through the course of the book 's development. When these words were written, the idea raises that character in the story can be defined as mockingbirds. Looking through the narrative, one could find out the best candidates: Atticus Finch, Tom Robinson, and Arthur "Boo" Radley. The human activity of being a Mockingbird is being pure of spirit, kindness, and reliability; this based off the actual actions of a mockingbird.
In To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, Jem believe Maycomb is Unjust because The Maycomb he used to know is not like what it is now, Which is shown when the prejudice members of his community are against Tom, Lula refusing to let Jem & Scout enter their church, and When he was punished for destroying Mrs. Dubose’s flowers. To Start Off, Scout was explaining on how the final verdict of the jury & judge affected Jem & loss faith in the citizens of Maycomb. Scout says, “I shut my eyes. Judge Taylor was polling the jury: “Guilty...guilty...guilty...guilty…” I peeked at Jem: his hands were white from gripping the balcony rail, and his shoulders jerked as if each “guilty” was a separate stab between them” (282). Maycomb is an injustice town because as every time the Jury said “guilty” it negatively affected Jem like he was being stab inside which illustrates how he was very confident in knowing that Tom will be acquitted & be found innocent but, after the verdict it had made realizes & lose hope on the members of his community.
Parents are meant to help pave of way in life, or at least get that paving started, Atticus is a great example. In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee our main characters father, Atticus, can be described as a wonderful parent. This book follows our main character Scout as she learns about life over the course of three summers and throughout the Tom Robinson trial. Overall Atticus is a fair person who has many lessons that can be learned throughout the book. Atticus doesn’t sugarcoat things for his children.
