The book To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, tells a story about Scout Finch and her experiences in the town of Maycomb, Alabama. In this story the narrator, Scout, introduces her father, Atticus, and her older brother, Jem. Her father is a lawyer that will defend anyone, including an African American named Tom Robinson which is uncommon in this time period. Atticus is the only parent the children have. Therefore his parenting style maybe a little different than the other families of Maycomb. Atticus Finch’s parenting style is respectful, informative, honest, and builds character.
