Although there are not many signs of racism, discrimination, and bad judgment exist today. However, the problem that humanity still having in this society makes life to be very frustrated and complicated due to some people treating others badly through prejudice. Similar to slavery in the past, prejudice itself today is a big, controversial topic and would become a dilemma in human life if people continue letting this go on. Barbara Jordan once said “We, as human beings, must willing to accept others who are different from ourselves.” In the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee demonstrates the value of every individuals living in this society and that people should put themselves into others’ worlds and learn from their perspective in order to know the true stories behind them rather than judging them by their differences. It would be a great way to enhance upon this society and makes it a much more better, safer, and happier place for everyone. …show more content…

In the novel, during chapter 3 when Atticus teaches Scout that the way of spectating before judgment by saying “If you can learn a simple trick, Scout, you'll get along a lot better with all kinds of folks. You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view… until you climb into his skin and walk around in it”(Lee 39). Nonetheless, Atticus’ lesson explains how significant it is to look and learn others’ perspective before making assumptions about them. Scout’s first few days at school and already she does not like Ms. Caroline’s teaching. However, applying Atticus’ lesson will help Scout to no longer having any misunderstood about her teacher thus understand for her for the fact that she is new to Maycomb and need some time to get along with this
