They thought that because he was black he was not telling the truth. Tom Robinson was so tired of the white people calling him names and not believing him that he decided to run away and that is when his life ended. In summary, I believe that Boo and Tom are symbols that symbolizes the mockingbird. These two men are caring and nice. Boo Radley and Tom Robinson are both symbolized by the mockingbird. In To Kill a Mockingbird it states that “it is a sin to kill a mockingbird” since they never act in malice and only give (Lee 103). Tom Robinson is like a mockingbird in that he is innocent, and he is an upstanding man. Harper Lee does a great job of depictig Tom as a decent man. Calpurnia says that Tom is a good man, when Atticus asks for her input on his character.
