People wear fake identities because they believe they need to be above reproach and the best they can possibly be so everyone would look up to them and want to be like them. In this chapter, Aunt Alexandra has a few neighbors and friends over to her house to talk while having tea. It is something similar to a tea party. While at the tea party Scout tries to entertain the guests and usually makes all the guests laugh, but Aunt Alexandra seems to be uninterested in Scouts and her attempts to make everyone laugh, but instead gives her a look that says “I really wish you would stop,” . Maudie’s dispute, Atticus walks in to everyone's surprise. When Aunt Alexandra is asked to accompany Atticus in the kitchen, she almost instantly asks what's wrong so everyone in the room can listen in. Aunt Alexandria tries to be a people pleaser but at the same time, wants things done her way. By asking what is wrong in front of everyone, she is satisfying the groups' gossip needs and therefore making everyone happier. She wants things her way because previously she makes Scout cry while telling her that the way she is acting is wrong and that Scout needs to have more pride. This book should influence how we live our lives by telling us to be prejudice free and to set good examples for littler ones who are always eager to do what you do. By providing the example of the rabid dog, the readers should be able to connect the dog to racism and understand that racism is always around whether we like it or not. It shows us how little children learn from older people and are sure to mimic them in any way
