Harper Lee is a very famous Author who wrote the book to kill a Mockingbird. The title of the book mean to kill innocence because a Mockingbird is a symbol of innocence. The book takes place during the Great Depression in Maycomb Alabama. In her novel to kill a Mockingbird lee uses Tom, Atticus, Boo Radley as the human embodiment of the Mockingbird. First, Lee uses Tom as a human embodiment of the Mockingbird. Tom is a good heated black man who is falsely accused of rape. Tom passes the ewell house everyday to and from work a lot of times Mayella stops him and asks him to help her do all types of odd jobs he feels bad for her so he helps her because it seems like she has no help.
