Parents play a major role in a child’s life. Parents affect how their child behaves and who they become as they grow older. The ideal parent should be an attentive listener, have a positive attitude and love their child unconditionally. Firstly, I think that parents should always listen to their kids no matter what or else they will feel neglected. Today, both fathers and mothers have limited time for their children. For example, most parents are concentrating on their work so much that they don't even know what grade their child is in. Parents should at least spend one hour a day spending time with them. A parent’s love and care is a major key to makes their children feel special .For example, in the novel To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, the Ewell family don't care what their children do or if they attend school. This represents not being an ideal parent and a parent who does not care about their children. Parents should show their love by using warm words, hugs and facial expressions. As a matter of fact, they should always explain something to their child calmly and out of love. Love is a valuable thing that parents should have because it helps them understand their child better . For example, in the novel To Kill A Mockingbird, Atticus is warm-hearted with his children, Jem and Scout. He is always ready comfort his children when they are having bad day and he is also ready to spend time with them whenever they need him. Atticus is also a brave father because when he takes the case of Tom Robinson , people of Maycomb start talking bad about him and telling rude stuff to Scout/Jem. When they ask him why he is supporting him?, he says sometimes you have to fight even if the whole world is against you. He teaches them good
