A novel talking about society in the mid 90’s shows how evil the people are, including racism, drama, and the meaning behind the title of To Kill A Mockingbird.
Harper Lee was a novelist who wrote the novel To Kill a Mockingbird, and won the 1961 Pulitzer Prize. To Kill A Mockingbird is a novel about racism, because how evil a single society can be. To Kill A Mockingbird is taking place in the Maycomb County Alabama, and character houses. The plot of the novel is about how a single society can be so evil, and racism during 1929–1941 when the Great Depression hit the US.

For Example Scout patiently planned out before taking the item. (Lee 78). This quote explains that Scout told Jem to wait incase if someone uses the tree as a trap since Jem wants to take the item from it. Similarly ”I think Atticus knows it anyway.” (Lee 54). Harper Lee shows that Scout understands Atticus more than Jem since she is more intelligent than her brother. Also “attractiveness of such words…” (Lee 105). The author further explains that Scout is way more advanced than her age by using words that a first grader wouldn’t use shows that she is very intelligent.
Along with being intelligent, Scout is hot headed. In addition ”Why, I hated that old cow barn thought settin it on fire hundreds of times” (Lee 97). Lee illustrates that Scout is effortless to get impatient, and wants to get rid of anything that she hates. Furthermore Scout without any calm punches Cuningham in the face (Lee 32).
