A Mockingbird A Mockingbird is a kind, gentle, and innocent bird that simply sings it songs and fly with such grace. Harper Lee shows us the meanings of “being a Mockingbird” in the classic novel How To Kill A Mockingbird, and we are shown what characters may resemble those beautiful birds. Mockingbirds are such innocent and happy creatures in this novel it would be quite the sin to kill or harm a mockingbird that didn’t deserve it. Main characters Tom Robinson, Boo (Arthur) Radley, and the wise man himself Atticus Finch are all mockingbirds that have their own beautiful songs to sing in which all have meaning.
