Similarities and differences, they’re everywhere. Whether you’re comparing your favorite sports team to someone else’s favorite sports team, or comparing how your muffin tasted today to how it tasted yesterday. One exercise that is important and sometimes fun to do is to compare stories. In this essay, we will be comparing two stories by the names of “The Voyage” and “To the Top of Everest”. Similarities tend to be a big target. When you see an object or film, you may think that it looks similar to something you have at home or that it is very alike to the movie you just saw at your friend’s house. These two stories had brave characters who overcame a dangerous journey. Secondly, in both stories, we had heroes. Odysseus was a hero. He sailed across the sea and did what he wanted to do, not letting his fear of Poseidon strike at any moment. But not only he was a hero, he had some help. Two goddesses had helped him in his attack. Ino, who helped lost sailors find their way to shore, and Athena, the goddess of wisdom, who helped him by stopping most of Poseidon 's wind. They were heroes to him because they had saved his life. In the story “To the Top of Everest”, she may not have saved a life or made history, but somewhere in the world, though she may not be a hero to me, is a hero to someone else. Someone who is terrified of heights, or wants to one day climb Everest. In conclusion, they are both heroes to themselves or others in one way or another. And finally, in both stories, both characters witnessed multiple emotions. In “The Voyage”, Odysseus was the only person sailing. He was probably lonely, bored, hungry, and anxious. Then when Poseidon attacked, he was worried, upset, and no longer hopeful for his survival. Then
