Yes I do think sporting events contribute to unifying a nation because it brings people of different races, religions, ages, different towns and provinces together in order to host a sporting event, such as the 2010 FIFA world cup. Also, everyone comes together to celebrate an individual’success whilst that individual is representing their country, athletes like chad le Clos.
