In colleges the amount men and women on sport teams has to be proportional with the amount of men and women at a school because of the Title IX. But there are some sports, like wrestling and other men sports like men's gymnastics or swimming, where there are a lot more men than women are on a team. Which leaves two ways to fix that problem; 1. Get more women on the team, which may require a lot of money 2. Make some of the men leave the team.
In the article concerning Scott Angelle, the anonymous author discusses the background and political race of the politician. Scott Angelle has been involved in the political arena since the age of 25 and has proven to be hard-working and compassionate while caring for Louisiana. He has proven successful in his areas of service being selected twice by governors from different political parties and proving his ability to work with all. Angelle, a native of Louisiana values hard work and team work within our communities. He is a proud husband, father and grandfather which reinforces his belief that Louisiana is the best place to raise a family.
She explores the nondiscrimination aspect of equal opportunity and suggests that the characteristic of sex should not be taken into account in relation to sports. In the article, it is explained that philosophers have developed three major positions concerning equal opportunity, but have focused on fields in which the sexes are either known or assumed to have equal potentialities. In regards to sports, some relevant differences between the sexes do appear to be permanent. This causes all three major positions concerning equal opportunity to be deficient when applied to this area. The author attempts to explain how physical attributes that men have and women do not add to the lack of equal opportunity in the sports
Sports are fun and very beneficial. Everyone can improve in skill, strength and cooperation. Both genders, however, may improve better with the opposite. The question is, should sports teams be coed? Of course some people would prefer not to be paired in a coed team, but it’s a very positive influence on both genders.
there should not be coed sport By jt morgan I think coed sports should not be allowed at school guys have been playing with guys for ever and girls have been playing with girls for ever so why change it. Guys are the dominant sex that's the way it always has been and that's for a reason we are stronger bigger and faster that's the way we are built and girls are built different guys have a thing called testrone and that makes us who we are bigger faster and stronger girls don't have that so they are smaller weaker and slower don't get me wrong there some girls that are better than some guys but the majority is we are bigger. Guys play harder than girls and the girls might get hurt and nobody
What started out as thousands of participants has grown into millions. According to the National Women’s Law Center, schools provide 1.3 million fewer spots on sports teams for girls than the boys, even though girls make up forty-one percent of school athletes (Tigay). In other words, schools are not truly creating equal opportunities for males and females in sports. Many states such as Illinois, South Dakota, Kentucky, Georgia, Texas, North Dakota, California, Ohio, Arizona, Nevada, Massachusetts, and New York, have provided their female athletes with lower quality uniforms and facilities. In addition, the girls are “forced to play or practice at inconvenient times to make way for the boys’ teams” (Tigay).
This also relates to girls and boys. If it is not provided, both sexes have to be allowed to try out if they want to participate on the same team. The division between men and women’s teams has increased the number of women playing in a sport. Before Title IX, less than three hundred thousand women played
“In 2012, a group of psychologists analyzed men’s and women’s propensities by looking at how many of them pursue team sports in their leisure time…. only 26% of intramural participants are women. They also studied recreational activity in 41 public parks in four different states…. but only 10% of those playing competitive team sports were women. A 2013 ESPN report on youth sports found that 34% of girls in grades 3-12 say sports is a big part of who they are; for boys the figure is 61%,” ("Title LX Anniversary: History of Controversial Equality Law.").
One of the major issues discussed now a days in our society that should girls be allowed to play in a coed teams in schools? Most schools separate males and females from playing in the same team. Unfortunately, coed teams can make girls learn how to be competitive, and boys will learn how
“You can’t play with us you’re a GIRL.” Heard that before. People say that boys and girls shouldn’t play the same sports, or coed sorts. I completely disagree with that because, it could really put people down. It never feels good to be discriminated, and that is basically what people do when it comes to the non- coed sports group.
Some people believe that girls should be able to play on the same teams with guys, I agree. I believe that girls should be able to be on the same team because it would save money, make the team better, and make it to where there would only be one team's day missed, not a boys and girls team on different days. I think there should be combined teams because in total, it would save the school money for the buses. There would not be as many buses taking teams to games whereas without combined teams, there would be a disproportionate amount of buses and it would just waste money.
The concept of Equality is identified as something the human species has always strived for. In many literary works it is viewed as the main topic or is included in the theme. For example, in the book Animal Farm, the short story “Harrison Bergeron,” and the opinionated essay “High School Teams Should Be Coed” are all familiar with equality, but not in the way most would assume. Instead of the widespread theme being equality is the answer to our problems, the theme is that there is no such element as total equality. This theme is portrayed in all three works using different and similar methods.
One second reason girls and boys should be able to play on the same team is inclusiveness. When teams are separated by gender, some people may feel more restricted
Sports should not be based on whether you are more interested in girls or guys sports; it should be based on which sport brings in more revenue and has the most participation
I do believe that they should be able to be on the same team without the feeling of others disapproving of their choice. With that being said, I think we should make sports more open to both genders. Such as making a boys and girls volleyball team or a football team that allows both boys and girls to join. I know a change like that may not happen for a while, but why not start trying
